I had a towsure caravan mover fitted years ago unfortunately it has been wired slightly incorrectly It moves Forwards and backwards correctly, but the turning is juxtaposed, i.e. you have to press the opposite button to turn in the required direction, this is the same on forward or rear turn buttons . Anyone know which wires require swapping and where to correct it I lived with it for years but it really needs sorting properly Thanks Boyd

You don't say if this a single or twin axle set up.

If its a single, locate the control box, where you will need to find how the motor wires are connected - perhaps by removal of a cover - the terminals might be spades or rings retained with a nut. You should see these marked left and right, so it will be just a case of swapping over both the red and black wires. Even though the blacks will have a common ground, I would still switch them to avoid any future confusion in tracing wires back.

If you are still not sure, give us the make - someone is bound to have it and give an exact response.

Turn the control box around in your hand.

I find forward/reverse illogical on my PowerTouch .... but have got used to it :)

(Trivia: when computer mouses first acquired a scroll knob, there was no established convention as to which way the scroll should function. Some programmers chose one direction, and some the other. Some programs to this day still have a register value which can be set to choose the scroll direction :woohoo: :woohoo: )

My Powertouch remote is okay for forward and back which align with the schematic. But turning the van the symbols just seem the reverse of what would seem normal. If an arrow goes one way I expect the van to do the same.

Do you know if the Towsure fitted model is their own brand ( Bought in??) or an Enduro or Purple Line or whatever?
I'm surprised after fitting they never left you any instructions and the fitting guide which should include the wiring diagram.
Once we know the exact make and model we may be able to help. Have you asked Towsure or their nominated fitter?
Failing that using a multimeter you should be able to trace each circuit as you use the controller thus establishing which wire goes live on which button. Well easy for some but if you are not sure leave it alone.
FYI Here's my Powrtouch wiring diagram. Maybe just swap right and left

Good luck.

If it was years ago you should be used to it now and correcting it might make using it harder as you will be forever turning the wrong way.

having a think about it it must be that the left and right are juxtaposed and swapping will correct it no change of polarity or anything as it goes forward and back correctly but the fault is when only one motor is required its obviously the wrong side that's being activated . good now I have a plan :)

Hang on.
Right and left must be correct if it moves correctly.
It seems from what you say and I haven't seen your set up the + &- right is crossed as is the left.
Are you sure the controller itself is not at fault?

Forward and back when both motors engage simultaneously works correctly it only goes to the wrong side when forward or reverse turn button is selected ie the operation of a single motor so it must be that left and right are juxtaposed I will swop left and right over there will be no changes to polarity so motor direction remains the same forward both will be the same as is reverse but when turn is selected the other motor will now move which should correct the anomaly I suspect that the original fitter chose the wrong facing direction of the van to choose which was left and which was right
