we have a bailey senator wyoming (double axle) cant afford a mover but have been looking at mover on tow bar (big foot) or the one that fits at jockey wheel and is powered by hand winder any advice? does anyone use one of these? thanks billy

I had a mover on my last caravan intending to put it on my new van ,but in between time i had a front tow bar fitted from Watling engineering ,cost

William, the simple answer to your question is "Do not bother with them" they are next to useless on anything but a very level, very smooth, dry tarmac driveway.
On anything wet, uneven, or on an incline,you will have trouble, not enough traction on the mover wheel, risk of the van running away with you, or worse, running you over.

I have a 20ft twin axle van and use a motormover big foot to move it. While there are limitations to just how much of an incline it can cope with, it is still very usefull.
Where I park my van means that the right hand set of wheels are parked on a scoffolding board built up some 10 inches to get the van level across the axle, also to get the van in place one has to reverse it left handed which would totally obscure the drivers view should I use the car.
I also have to get up the slope from the road, across the pavement and onto the drive. This is approximately 1 in 6. By reversing onwith the mover you inherantly place more gravitational down force on the mover which enhances the grip. Should a skid occur with the mover it is quite easy to activate the caravan hand brake to stop any run away.
By doing the job with a mover that has a top speed of half a mile per hour and the ability of the operator to see close up what is happening and make fine adjustments in direction easily are a very big plus.

We have a Wyoming with Powrtouch mover, does the job very well. friend has the mover that fits on the towbar to move his Abbey Spectrum, works well on his flat level drive, big adavantage with the Powrtouch as far as I am concerned is that it is always on the van, so it can be used on site as well as at home, we also use ours to hitch the van to the car, it is easy to bring the caravan up to the towball and you can see exactly what you are doing.

I bought a refurbished mover from Powrtouch it comes with a three year guarantee, I have just fitted it yesterday. I phoned them about 6 weeks ago and had my name put on a waiting list, there was four names before mine. I phoned them on Saturday morning June 23rd to see where I was on the list as we were towing to Cornwall on the night, we were next on the list, paid a deposit and when we got home on July 7th it was there for us I had it delivered to my next door neighbour as he was looking after our house. To be quite honest I can not see any refurbished items at all it all looks like brand new, motors and electronics I found it very easy to fit
