Hi all, We are looking to travel to Italy in September, travelling for 6 to 8 weeks with Lake Garda as our main stop but the main reason for my visit is to travel to the area around Pavia and Voghera to visit the area where my father was during the beginning of 1945.
So my question is - does anyone have any knowledge of sites in that area, looking for a visit of 4/7 days at most.
 
this is in the Padova area,although i know nothing about it http://www.campingvallestaffora.com . you could try www.camping.it which has extensives coverage of site in Italy region by region..

have looked at the site but cant get an english translation, Looked for it on Google Earth and it appears up in the mountains and although this is where I want to visit I think the roads in the area are not suited to my outfit. Very narrow most of the way.
Thinking now of leaving my caravan at site in Lake Garda and just going off for a few days and stay in an hotel. Many thanks for your help.
 
there is an Ibis hotel in padova,quite rare in Italy but atleast there standard is known, also why not try booking.com,were find the site extremely helpfull and once you have put in the dates and the town, you can use their map to scan all hotels for miles around in nearby towns villages ect,which we find usefull.
