After fighting my way into the family's 2018 year's diary fixtures we have been granted a three week spell where we are free to do our own thing! For some while we have wanted to take the caravan on a tour which takes in the Belgium Ardennes, Trier (Germany) and the Vosges Mountains. We like rural sites and don't require much in way of amenities apart from showers. We like visiting small towns/castles/museums etc as well as country walking too and of course eateries and inns. If anyone has any suggestions for good sites and attractive tourist areas that would be really useful.

Hutch,

looks really nice site and very close to the village. I see they allow dogs but the area is surrounded by vineyards. Do you recall whether there was a dog walk for toilets?

No dedicated dog walk, but just a case of wandering down the roads around the vineyards. The town was fantastic as were all the other ones around, the Storks in the area were very noisey. When we were there in June. Wine fantastic, the language is a mix of French and German. But everyone speaks English.

Hutch thank you fir the info. I've now booked a site with 5 star CMHC reviews and booked through the club. All other decent sites around Colmar were solidly booked using ACSI Pitchup or even the sites own online facility. Whereas the Club have allocated pitches which are retained into 2018 or until booked. Git a 7 for 6 price with a discount for early booking. A few miles south of Colmar but still nicely sited for both Vosges and southern Rhine. Guess the lack of availability is because it's into the main season, nice area and some very large German cities not that far away. Thanks again for your advice.
