Caravan Sites Scotland - Northern England

Help! Taking kids away in caravan on Friday for a long weekend and still not decided where to go yet. Looking for a site in either Scotland or Northern England that, if possible, has a swimming pool and nice walks for our puppy. The kids are both young teenagers so we need to keep them occupied mostly to give us peace. A park where you can walk into the town would be great. Biggest problem is finding a park open before March and the larger parks like Standwix and Sea Houses cost around £30 - £35 per night even though its Feb. It used to be so easy and cheap when we started caraving. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Audrey

Not sure where you're coming from but living in the west coast of Scotland, we've been to Brighouse Bay a few times and had good fun. It's at Borgue, Kircudbright, Dumfries & Galloway and is open all year. It has licensed shop (you need to drive to shops in nearby Kircudbright though)indoor swimming pool, bar & food, golf course and is next to the Irish sea. Lots of walks for the puppy! Have a look at their website www.gillespie-leisure.co.uk hope this helps
