Caravan Step withSafety rail

Does anyone out there have any experiance of a caravan step with attached handrail, or other helpful suggestion, as my wife has a balance problem and we don't want to stop caravanning just yet.

If yopu contact the undermentioned company, they could make one to your specification. As they normally make things lke access platforms for servicing aircraft, you will need to specify your requirements. Mine was for a two tread step made of a non-slip metal, top step to be 13ins above ground, handle fitted to the right hand side (Think which way your 'van door opens, mine is hinged on the left) I also asked for two slide-out stabilisers and spreader feet to go under the legs so the tubes neither sink into the soil, nor damage groundsheets.

Hello Christopher.

Have you seen a hand rail that fits to the caravan side and doubles up as a security device because it folds flat and locks when the van is not in use.

I wiil try to find more details and post the info..

My wife suffers from athritis and had trouble gaining entry to our van. We bought the Fiamma hand rail and it works a treat. As you said it also acts as a security device as it covers the door lock and also locks itself. If your van is under warranty you will need to get a dealer to fit it. Cost
