this is a old one on the forum so you will get mixed views but when i had this same problem i had to go for a 8 ply because the manufacturer made the van with 8ply.This lead to the insurance would not pay up if i had a accident and they found a lesser tyreon van many tyre firms diagreed with this (speed rateings ,6 ply ect ect)all on offer to me. So with dealers advice (swift ) and the insurance company advice the same i whent for the 8 ply to cover all opptions. this you may need to know before you think off size or brand sure there will besome diffrent thoughts on this .

I had the exact dilemma a few months back.Went to a tyre dealer who promised me he'd sourced two tyres of correct LI and when he was in the process of fitting the first tyre I noticed they were LI 95 not 96 and had to make him put the old ones back on.The info I got was that any replacement had to be of same ratings or higher to stay legal. The did eventually source two identical replacements.

your van is 2005 & the tyres are due for replacement if not allready do so.The original tyres were tralormax 195/70/14R @42psi
these tyres & that tyresize are extremly hard to find now & with Baileys consent I changed mine to Avon supervan 185 R14C.@50psi
these have a load factor of 102 against 96 for the trailormax & give me the recommended 10% load safety factor that was not available with the original tyres/tyre size.See http://www.tyresafe.org/caravantyres/ for info on tyres
195.70.14r tyre size's are not available in europe now so if you needed to replace a tyre you would find it near impossible

Have you tried KwikFit? I had two last year, same size and spec as yours, fitted by the mobile fitter for not much more, can't find the invoice , than £120. KwikFit mobile where the only ones that would also deal with Tyron bands, even the local KwikFit depot wouldn't deal with Tyrons. Event tyres are good, had them change my car tyres but they also won't deal with Tyron Bands. Not supprised after talking and watching the fitter change the Caravan tyres, they can be awkward to get the band back on correctly.

etyres do mobile tyron bands. I've had event tyres for the car and they were excellent but need my two tyron equipped tyres changing and may try them.
