Hi dean, we stayed here for two weeks July 2002,our first year of touring. As you can imagine it was busy, but it was a well cared for site.Toilets & showers were well used, clean as you can get for a holiday site this time of year.Well stocked shop,a takeaway which did a very good value for money breakfast, just take your plate up.Outdoor pool and free childrens entertainment.Pitches were generally flat, some were on terraces. There is a railway line at the back of the site which you could hear but couldnt see,I cant remember it being intrusive. We werenot keen on the local beach I seem to remember it was part of some complex, shelved steeply and you had to pay,it wasn't dog friendly. The roads around this area always seem to be very congested.Local Asda which also sells fuel.Good for Charlestown,Eden Project, mevagissey,Fowey,Polperro,Lost Gardens of Heligan. All in all we enjoyed our stay and I'm sure you will to.Have a nice holiday.

Hi Dean

We spent 2 weeks here in August 2004. It rained for almost all of that time as it did everywhere else last year. The site was very clean, toilets cleaned regularly and not crowded - showers always hot. Good well stocked shop and owners very friendly and helpful. Good adventure playgournd on site. Ben's playworld is 2 minutes in the car away and was fantastic for our 7 year old. Also there is a market next to the playworld every weekend. Fowey is a must and local supermarket Tesco is about 10 mins away. Excellent for Eden Project - ask at reception for tickets etc. Beach at Carlyon Bay stoney and new apartments were being built plus 80 plus steps to negotiate for little feet. But there are good sandy beaches (safe for children) within 10/15 mins away. On the whole I would recommend Carlyon Bay and is excellent value for money.

Hi Dean,

We've stayed at both Carlyon Bay (Spring 2004) and Seaview International (Autumn 2004), it wasn't planned that way, but arriving home after staying at Seaview we found that a rally was scehduled for Carlyon Bay the following Spring.

Seaview International is a quiet site with large grass pitches, friendly staff and good toilet blocks.

Carlyon Bay was not quite up to the same standard, but close. It was noisier, with a main road and shopping / swimming complex close by the entrance.

The big difference was that Seaview International has a made-up perimeter road to access all the pitches, whereas Carlyon Bay only had a made up road to the entrance of each field. It did rain, quite heavily in fact, and it became quite difficult to gain access to the pitches at Carlyon Bay.

If the weather is fine, then both are good.

Robert
