carolina water pump

hi, the submersible pump on my 09 carolina makes a hell of a racket when running the taps. has anyone else experienced this as the dealership where i had it serviced says this is normal due to type of pump that bailey use. thanks

Hello Andrew

A far as I know, bailey tend to use on board self priming pumps not submersible ones.

The self priming pumps are usually displacement types with reciprocating pistons/diaphragms and valves. These inevitably set up vibrations and because they are carried inside the caravan body and usually fixed to panels, they do tend to be noisier than the external submersible pumps.

You can try decoupling the pump body from the wood work by using soft rubber pads, but they will always produce some noise.

Have a Bailey California 2009 asked the same question apparentley this is normal it is an onboard pump the connector that goes in the barrel is just a filter it will also power up during the night as it keeps the pressure correct. It is different but we were away for about 5 weeks in France and no problems. We had enough vino not to hear the pump at night but if you have a problem awitch it off.

Cheers
