carpet or lino or laminate flooring ???

Mike,

Down to personal choice I guess. If you did opt for laminate flooring remember it would eat into your payload. You might think that a laminate board is not heavy but try lifting a couple of packs of them and you may change your mind.

Foam backed carpet does not need a heavy underlay, some paper will do, stops it sticking to the floor and giving you work to do if you need to lift and change it.

Hi Mike

We replaced our carpet in the van recently what with a dog & grankids, used a cushion floor flooring that looks like a beech laminate same as is fitted in newer vans got he old carpet ou and used as a rough template then trimmed up when fitted.. job done and only cost 30 quid best of luck.
