Carravaning in Poland

Good afternoon all

We have two weeks holiday at the end of August and interested in touring around Poland with the main part of the trip a visit to Auschwitz, are there any camp sites in and around the area, I ask as I was speaking to a fellow vanner a few years ago and he advised against due to the roads not being very good and also from a safety issue. I would like some advice if others have travelled there and what are the good/bad points about a visit and any information on camp site availability.

Many thanks

There is a campsite in Auschwitz itself, if you feel like sleeping so close to the dead!! If you haven't been before it might be best to stay further away. Definitely a place to visit.

The roads have improved considerably since we last visited, moreso if you go straight to Auschwitz through Germany. We went up to the Baltic coast at Szczecin then to Gdansk and down to Auschwitz via Lod and Krakow. Came back via Wracklow, Checz and East Germany on superb roads.
