Can you give some more details please.

Were you trying teh heater on Gas or electric heating or both?

When you say "only left hand side getting warm" are you referring to teh heater front panel or the warm air outlets around the heater?

And finally when was the heater last serviced?

Scant info but off the top of my head and running on gas, the main bulk of the heat exchanger is on the left, so on blown air therefore most of the heat is being sucked out the back and into the ducting, to my mind I'd expect there to be somewhat more left of the residue heat to warm the left side of the case more than the right.
