My carver trumatic sbt1800 gas fire & refrigerator in my 'lunar meteorite '94' isn't working so upon removing the fire on inspection both gas pipes underneath were completely perished (1 into the fire & one heading towards the back of the van refrigerator I think?) I can't seem to find what pipes I need to replace the coroded pipes for it online after trawling the web. The one going into the underneath of the fire is a lot smaller than the other which is like a brake pipe size. Any help will be much appreciated thanks

Please be advised that the installation, servicing, maintenance and removal of gas appliances must only be carried out by a person who is competent with the gas safety testing regimes required by law.

It is part of the heaters service requirements that the gas feed and burner feed pipes should be regularly inspected. Failure to so will allow corrosion to go unnoticed.

The pipes should be available from your local caravan service agent, but

I strongly advise you arrange to have a caravan service depot or mobile service engineer to fix and safety check the appliance, for you and your families safety.

Just a note about the pipes in question, the British and European standards that applied to the design and construction of the appliance prevented the manufacture from using non corroding pipes. and as such they should be replaced with the same specification though some now have a paint covering which does provide some additional protection.

The very best person to contact is Gary at Arc Systems regarding everything to do with Carver products.

I must say that in the time I have been servicing such items as yours I have never found a supplier of the pipes you require, but Gary may have a supplier.

The smaller pipe you refer to has flared ends so not just a straight swap with any pipe.
