Carver water heater

I have a lovely mk1 carver water heater but my control panel has been broken, is it possible to rewire a carver gas room heater control panel to work my water heater (the wire from my water heater has 6 pin round plug and the room heater control unit has an oblong 6 pin plug) Many thanks

Hello Rolland,

I'm sorry but the answer is no. They look very similar but there are important differences in the values of some of the components.

As John says the value of one or two components is different, this is because the water heater works up to circa 80degC and the fire only to 32degC, also the water heater temperature sensor is in the water tank and for the fire it's on the switch

The water heater switch then can in theory be used to run the fire without any temperature control, but, the fires switch cannot test the water heater as two temperature sensors will be in circuit.

Having said all that, I can fix them, www.arcsystems.biz
