Cascade 2, Heater, Pressure Relief Valve

We developed a leak from our above heater from the outside vent, on investigation hubby found leak coming from the pressure relief valve, hubby tried to remove whole old valve but left the threaded piece still in, any ideas how we can remove threaded piece without damaging the original thread so we can replace with new valve. Liz

Liz,

I used a small hacksaw blade and carefully cut inwards being careful to stop before the metal thread. Do this in 2 places, like 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, then prise the plastic remains out being careful not to get any into the heater. Clean up the threads before fitting the new valve.

Good luck,

Ron

Thanks Ron,

You have just confirmed what Hubby wanted to do, he will have a go next week when he goes to the van, (P.S I was unsure so I would not let do it there and then).

Thanks again Ron you have reassured myself that you had the same problem and thats what you did. Liz

I had the same problem some years back and did the same as Ron.

It's not that difficult just a bit of a fiddle. Get the bits out with tweezers.

The valve was quite cheap to buy.
