Catalytic Converter Alarms

As there have been a number of catalytic converter thefts in our area
lately we are considering fitting an electronic catalytic converter
alarm to our Bolero - does anyone have any experience of these?

Hi
I work for a company in Leeds that manufactures the only alarm system for catalytic converters, Procatt 3, that is Thatcham ( The Motor Insurance Research Centre ) accreddited in the UK, so giving you the confidence to have our product fitted to your vehicle.
Unfortuneately you are right when you say that this sort of theft is very much on the increase and unless action is taken to prevent this, then your van will always be vulnerable.
Why not visit our website www.securemicrosolutions.com, or call Chris in our office on 01132467230 and tell him Craig sent you !
Happy camping

Hi
Procatt 3 has it's own horn, which is set to the legal limit in terms of volume and duration, and has LED lights in the cab as well. The reason for us making the alarm this way was down to the concerns of certain manufacturers with regards to warranty issues if we were to tap into the existing alarm, our Procatt 2 does however integrate with the vehicles alarm and is also available as an alternative.
Thanks for your comments

I did reply to this on the other thread. If you know anyone that can weld, get them to weld the nuts of the bolts. Far cheaper than an alarm. Thieves would need to grind the weld off which would be far to noisy.
