My fan heater is staying on and hot even when it's switched of on switch on wall. It works fine when switched on. We did have a slight burning smell at one point when we turned it of 1st night of using it. Not sure if this was owt to do with it. It did work fine last time we used it a few weeks ago. Thanks in advance for any help given

Sorrry Jayrick, but I see 2 potentially dangerous situations. 1, it would appear that the wall outlet is faulty. And 2 the burning smell. (But sometimes this is simply burning dust off after storage).
As you feel the need to ask, I guess your electrical knowledge may be limited. I think both need looking at by, if not an expert, then someone with reasonable experience of such things.

These heaters were last made over 20 years ago. Caravan appliance, even though they are not used very often will deteriorate with age. Due to certain regulatory requirements when these appliances were manufactured there are some steel parts that will corrode.
I advise any gas appliance over 5 years should be periodically checked professionally for safety.

The heater electric and is behind the gas fire which you can run the fan off also.
Thanks, will check the flue and give the whole unit a clean with the vacum. Then find a electric person if that dose not sort it.

You say in your last posting "I will check the flue ". The flue has nothing to do with the electric side of the heater, only the gas .
