Thanks for that, John. Anything that makes for less anxiety is OK by me. I guess the new rules won't make much difference to people who have their pets vaccinated against rabies regularly, but once you lapse, then the blood test will have to be done again and in future we will have to wait just 3 weeks instead of 6 months before being allowed back into the UK. Think that's what it means anyway. Our dog/cat/ferret went to France last year and loved it so he's planning on going again this year, but I think by next year the money will have run out!

It might also mean no visits to the vets before returning home but that does depend on what they decide about tapeworm treatment. We would be happy to do our own worm and tick before leaving, its the inconvenience and anxiety of having to booking vets and the cost of paying for them that I don't like.
