hi guys i own a 2005 swift conqueror 630 and would like to change the omni directional antenna for a status 530 directional one. is it possable to just swop them over, i do have a cupboard where the old aerial and tv stands now. cheers mark
Hi, you need to consider the existing hole in your roof versus the one needed for the 530 ie it may need to be enlarged or an adaptor plate fitted if it's too large (don't forget heavy duty sealant to stop leaks!) Also you will need a hole through the van ceiling for the mast and sufficient depth to accomodate the mast when retracted- there's a long and a short one sold for the 530. The mast internal support also needs to be close to a vertical surface to be fixed. You'll also need 12V power in the cupboard and a route for the aerial cable to your TV.
Before you commit yourself I suggest you have a look at a 530 installed in a caravan.
Better suggestion - get freesat. By the time you have finished beggering about with the aerial and paid the (exhorbitant) price for the directional aerial, you can get a sat kit that will work anywhere, UK and abroad.
