Changing normal 12 Volt Fluorescent tubes to LED

I use a motor caravan which has three twin Fluorescent tubes. I would like to swop the one in the middle of the living area to LED but read that such a change will require a transformer. Could someone please point me towards some detail on this change.

I enjoy my journeys in the camper leaving the TV at home and catching up with my reading. However, as I pasted my eightieth birthday last year and my eyes grow weaker I find that I need better lighting so LEDs will be a boon.

You will need to be sure that your new LED lighting is in fact brighter than the old fluorescent, and you might be better off with leaving the existing lighting as it is and adding some LED spot reading lights.

You should not need any transformer. There are LED lights that run on 12V DC which your caravan already has available.
