Changing stabiliser

Having changed my towcar I will shortly be in the process of having a new towbar fitted with a detachable towball, I am now in a position where I have to change my stabiliser from a blade type to a hitch head.I have seen used examples on various web sites so I would be grateful of any advice/opinions of whether to go used or buy new.

I would question why someone would have a hitch head stabiliser for sale? If there're scrapping their 'van the chances are the stabiliser is well used or may have been involved in some sort of accident. If they are upgrading is it because they are not happy with their current one (but willing to let you be unhappy 🙁 )? There are of course also genuine reasons to sell but I'd be a tad inclined to go for a new one. At least you know what you're getting then.

I would agree with chrisbee1, Go for a new one.

You can get the latest Al-Ko one on Ebay for about £225 at the moment for a new one..
