Changing to refillable gas bottles

I have considered changing to refillable gas bottles for some time now; but have avoided doing so because of the cost. Just a few weeks ago I thought I would make inquiries with the only local fitter in the area. The advice I got; don't bother; because even if it was cost effective; there are no petrol stations in the area that supplies gas. The question; here in the North East; will there ever be petrol stations supplying gas for motorhome bottles?

Thanks Lizzie; I had my motorhome services in Bridlington a few weeks ago by a firm that supply and fit refillable gas bottles. Most firms would happily fit a system without question; not informing you about the availability of gas in the area. Although refillable gas is cheaper; the actual cost of a refillable system would take quite a number of years to recover based upon present usage.
