Charger unit

Hi All

Problem with charger unit again...

Intermittantly worked, would come back on when i wiggled the wires (at the charger) that leave the charger and go to the battery for charging.
So changed to connectors to stop the need for wiggling but now won't work at all.
Checked all fuses, changed more connectors, checked all connections and joins right from charger to battery.
Power def in charger but no charge is leaving it. even drained battery and re-charged in garage no joy. turned all lights on in van to see if it kickstarted it but no joy still.

Seemed to have tried everything but no luck, would normally give up and buy new charger but frustrated that is did work with wiggling the wires and no doesn't.

What van?
What make of charger unit?
If Nordelettronica it is a well known problem.
It will mean either sending the unit away to be repaired, or replacing with a Sargent PX300 charger unit .
 
I'm wondering if it's simply a loose solder connection into the board, this would certainly explain 'wiggling' curing it for a while.
Nord as most others suffer from this purely age related fault, however, on the more general problem with Nord, http://www.apuljackengineering.co.uk/services.htm are now offering a two year warranty on their repair/upgrades.
