charging 110 ah battery

Can anyone recommend a battery charger to charge a 110 ah leisure battery. Many thanks, Pete

Any smart/intelligent charger will do fine - ignore any "advice" that it must give a particular charging current, it just takes longer with lower current.
I use a CTEK XS3600 which has a maximum current of 3.6 amps but works fine even when used instead of an on-board power supply.

The 3600 is rated for charging purposes for a maximium 75a/h battery, but ok for maintainence up to 120a/h
The MXS5 is rated for 110a/h charging and has an 8 stage charge regime, a much better choice.

But in the real world the CTEK XS3600 will charge AND maintain a 120Ah battery - it just takes longer to charge it from low discharge.
The CTEK MXS5 is better but it's more expensive, £63 vs £40.
Like most things it depends on your budget.

Amps output of a modern full voltage charger such as being talked of here, is purely an indication of the time it will take to full charge the battery it is connected too, eg, 110/3.6 = 30 hours, 110/5 = 22 hours
There are though losses involed so these cannot be exact times, ultimatly, a one amp output charger would be unlikely to charge a big battery as losses may overcome any gains.

Practically speaking I use a 3.6A to charge my 110Ahr battery and it does just fine, however and as Roger knows, mine is the alledged £13 'cheapo' version of the CTEK from Aldi/Lidl and personally after 4yrs use I can highly recommend it

I agree with Gary on this. My Aldi charger does the job for my 110 Ah battery. It seems that caravanners are only satisfied when spending shedloads of cash on items which can be obtained for far less outlay! Maybe I'm getting a bit cynical in my old age!

Thats not being cynical its the truth , all items made for the leisure industry ars a rip off, shop around is the answer.
