Checklist!!!

Good Morning Everyone

I remember a while ago there was a check list posted on the forum, for arrival onto site to check that you had done everything properly and hadn't forgotten anything.

Does anyone know where it is please, or does anyone know of a good checklist that they could recommend.

As it is our first trip away next week, myself and hubby are a bit nervous as to what we have to do. We know the basics, but also know that there is something very important that we will probably forget. The idea is to laminate a check list and keep it in the caravan.

Thank you

Sam

Morning Sam,

If you go on to the following web site:-

www.oakwood-village.com

and scroll down to the title ......"Don't forget anything"

You will find lists which you can print off for virtually everything.

Mind you we have been caravanning now for 11 years and still forget things !!!!

Good luck

Maureen

Hi Sam

Here are the checklists I posted before. Hope you can adapt them to suit, as you will see we have a motor mover, so you will have to make some changes if you don't have one. At least it will give you a template to start with and then you can alter it to suit yourself.

1. Connect to electric & switch fridge to mains to chill.

2. Flush water tanks with Milton (start of season only). Empty tanks if necessary.

3. Check everything stowed securely. All doors, rooflights & windows closed/clipped.

4. Switch fridge to 12 v setting & secure door etc. Control panel set to "Off".

5. LPG off and secure. Battery OK.

6. Mains cable disconnected from power first then caravan & then stowed.

7. Check all tyre pressures & wheel nuts (incl spare).

8. Remove wheel clamp & hitchlock. Switch on and wind on Motor Mover. Raise 4 corner steadies.

9. Handbrake fully released. Hitch up. Raise jockey wheel to highest & clamp. Attach breakaway cable & check stabiliser engaged. Connect 12 v cable & check all lights & mirrors ok.

11. Stow drill, levelling blocks, chocks & step. Lock door.

12. Check caravan level or slightly nose down. Car Level.

Stop after 20 miles to check all still ok, nothing moved, wheels cool, no cables trailing etc.

Not an overkill at all.

We nearly went of last week without the glass turntable for the micro wave! Sad or what?

Seriously , I agree these lists are essential.
