The sites own website says reception poor. Can anyone tell me what the tv reception is like at Cheddar CAMC please ? It's been a few years since we visited and used the tv hook up at the bollard. Just wondered if it has improved with digital signal.
But then how often do they up date their website .The sites own website says reception poor.
You tell me.But then how often do they up date their website .
Pity they cannot bend the Mendip transmitter beams downwards. The whole Cheddar area is poor

Shouldn't be a problem - its only 7 miles away so you don't need down-tilt.Pity they cannot bend the Mendip transmitter beams downwards.
Digital tv signals are more dependent on line of sight than the now-defunct analogue tv signals - that's why height of aerial is important when checking signal strength on sites like Wolfbane.Shouldn't be a problem - its only 7 miles away so you don't need down-tilt.
I notice that many aerials in the Cheddar area have their aerials point just west of south - which suggests they are using Stockland Hill near Honiton. Farther away but could be a worker. We stay on a CL about 5 miles east of Devizes and although Mendip is 9 miles away behind a small hill it works perfectly., BUT we also get Stockland Hill (35 miles) as well on a useable signal.
The secret is to tune your TV manually and see what you get.
