hi go to the grand large at les pieux only about 10 miles away from the port. We always head to this site when we get off the boat because it is right on the beach.

The Caravan Club site L'Anse du Brick is only about 7 miles from Cherbourg so it's dead easy to get to the port. If you stay on the site before your journey home they let you leave early if you want - unlike some other French sites.

We stayed at L'Anse du Brick and it was easy to find and as Graeme said you can leave as early as you want. They seem geared up for people wanting a stop over for the ferry.

We caravaned in france for the first time in 2004 and we stayed at Le Grand Large apprx 1/2 hour from cherbourg. As it was the first time driving and taking the caravan to france did not know what to expect but was amazed how clean this site was and how friendly the owners were. I would certainly stop at this one again when travelling to france.

Regards
