Fiona, I've done this several times, the last being spring BH week this year. We went by train from Chertsey to Waterloo three days running.

Chertsey train station is approx 20 minutes walk from the site and trains are regular - 2 an hour I think - they run till late from Waterloo. On our three days we never paid the same price twice for our tickets. Me, my wife and two teenagers. There is no benefit in getting a travel card for 3 -4 days. The first day the ticket office was closed and the ticket machine out of order. We never paid anything in spite of requesting to do so with the train staff. The second day we paid at the ticket office approx

The site in Chertsey is next to the river Thames and during our visit was underneath the flight path to Heathrow so things could be slightly noisy at times. Wild parakeets can be seen in the trees on the site.

When we visited the site had just been refurbished and the grass seed hadn't yet germinated so it was a bit bare and the ehu points were a long way from the hardstanding pitches so we had to borrow a long lead from the site and leave a
