Considering this vehicle amongst others as a replacement for my X Trail, has anyone purchased this vehicle and towed with it or the Vauxhall Antara equivalent?

Hi Clive

Just bought a new Vauxhall Antara S 2.0CDTi manual last August to pull a new Stirling Europa 460. Have found it to be an excellent tow-car and would be able to pull a much larger van. I was looking for a 4x4

Clive there was a post on here last year from a guy who had bought a Captiva 7 seater and then found that the handbook prohibits towing when the rear row of seats are in use.

You maybe want to check that out as apparantly it only applies to the Captiva and not the Antara.

A strange situation I know but if verified would make the Captiva about as much use for towing as a chocolate teapot!!
