Chip and pin and self-service fuel

Just returned from three weeks in France. Pleased to discover that newer self-service fuel pumps now accept UK chip and pin cards (which wasn't the case in the past) - it made filling up much simpler, particularly on a Sunday.

However, the French still haven't worked out how to indicate or use the correct lane when negotiating roundabouts...

John.

Thanks for that, How do you tell which is the 'newer type'. As for driving standards, where is your spirit of adventure?

Trial and error at the moment, I guess! We were successful twice at large Carrefours.

I'm happy to be adventurous - I just think that the French have had long enough now to work out what 'vous n'avez pas le priorite' means in practice...

we got stuck in the tolls and pressed the help button and had a smiling helpful french man sort us out and wish us bon voyage. Was pleasantly more than surprised.
