I would like, on behalf of the team behind this forum, to wish eveyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It has been a very unsettled year and looks like being not much better to come, but please spare a thought for those who are in places away from loved ones risking their lives, and those who will be working over the festivities to ensure our safety and well being.

And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of the forum members as well. I really enjoy the friendship and help that I have received from people on here that I have never met - goes to show the world is not all bad.

Good old Slade, a bunch of Black Country boys made good.
I used to see them regularly at the Queen Mary Ballroom in Dudley (inside the zoo grounds for those who've been there) before they hit the big time and I still see Dave Hill knocking around from time to time.
Noddy Holder wrote his lucrative and enduring Christmas hit at his parents house in Walsall after a night out supping ale at The Trumpet in nearby Bilston. The pub, which is still there on the High Street and more or less unchanged, was one of Slade's regular haunts where they could enjoy an evening out listening to live music with nobody bothering them.

Well here I am at chapel lane cc site awaiting mince pies and sherry with the wardens at 3.00pm.
I too wish Damien, Parksy and Nigel D and his team. A good relaxing day tomorrow and many good mags in 2012.

As it,s my wedding aniversary today I expect we will be out later for more merriment.
