he Cardiff show! once an icon in the uk show calender is now just a dying giant. What with the greed of the organisers virtually pricing themselves out of the ball game and the current economic climate it is now clearly doomed to fail and next year it should not take place due to the embarrassment they will obviously incur on themselves.

Dealers and exhibitors, take note that there are much more economical ways of putting your name out in front. Take, for example the innovative idea put in place by discover leisure(the company that everyone says is in big trouble at least they have outlasted Woolworths MFI Findus Foods and a great many more high street names) Discover spent a few pounds on a couple of gallons of diesel and a driver. hey then towed their little gem of a 25 year old dinky caravan around and it was noticed by thousands of people all around Newport & Cardiff and the response wass massive. I would guess that discover claimed more sales and genuine enquiries than any of the exhibitors that spent many thousands of pounds on the white elephant known as the CIA Show. Well done Discover Leisure you can hold your heads high you have survived where others have failed. I hope you have taught the caravan world a LESSON IN ECONOMY.

From your original post I got the impression that you had some connection with Discover or caravan sales.

It's not a problem, Scot who is connected with Discover in Newport has posted on the forum and Brian from GT Towing often makes helpful and informative contributions.

Those connected with the 'trade' are most welcome to post on this forum, Swift and now Bailey often do and we have a few manufacturers, sales people and park owners who help give a balanced view with their posts as well as often helping to solve customer issues.
