Hi everyone,

We are off to Cirencester CC site for the bank holiday weekend, anyone have any thoughts on the site, pitches etc...,and is there a pub in walking distance?

Cheers Jay.

Jay,

Cirencester is within easy walking distance - restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops... Either through Cirencester Park or alongside the road.

About 2 or 3 years ago we organised an EribaFest at that site, and really enjoyed the visit - we used the grass pitches at the rear.

Cirencester Park is a great club site which we visit 3-4 times a year. It depends whether you like grass pitches or hard standings. The grass pitches are at the top of the site, beyond the second toilet block. All flat and kept to a high standard. They are also well drained. From these pitches you can easily access a large childrens playing field (with a boules pitch) and right next door is the dog walking field, again all well kept.

However, the last time we were there, earlier this year, the access to Cirencester Park (from the site) was closed and large fences erected. You now have to walk down the main road in order to access this area.

No problems with pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, etc., which are all located in the town.

Have a good holiday.

Just back after weekend at Cirencester. Very wet - several units had to be towed off grass pitches by warden when occupants were trying to leave. OK if facing downhill. There are also grass pitches just down from the toilet block nearest the entrance - all hard standing was occupied by my arrival at 1400 on Friday.

Hi

We were there 3 weeks ago, two of the pubs are quite good, only a 10 minute walk.

Most of the pitches are very good, if you go down through the cricket pitch area, there is a gate leading into the park.

Fresh rolls every morning, welcoming staff, have a good weekend.

Hi Richard

Did you try accessing the Park via the road running between the cricket pitch and tennis courts, Richard? When we last visited a couple of months ago this was a 'no go access area'! Would be interested to know, as we are booked in for a week in Sept. It was a long trek to get into the Park when walking half way down the main road!
