Citroen Xantia

Does anybody tow with a xantia turbo diesel hatchback? Are the later HDI models a better towcar? Any comments good or bad please.

Hi Tony

i have been towing with a Citroen Xantia 110 bh. for four years. It tows well and has never given any trouble on numerous trips to the south of France> it is quite economical as well. Mine has now done 56000 miles from new.

I tow a French Burstner 500 TS which is lighter than the UK modle. We find on the motor way you have to keep an eye on your speed as 70mph is easily reached without your knowledge

Hi Tony

I have a R reg 1900TD sx hatch

46000 miles and tow a 2004 bailey Ranger/470/4 which is almost max tow weight, and it tow's great.

Lots of power 31 to the gallon when towing.

I've been using a Xantia as a tow car since 1998. Mine is a 2.1 estate, but the 1.9TD is excellent. If you go for a HDI make sure it has the 110bhp engine, some of them have the 90 fitted.

Tony

We towed with a Xantia 110HDi for about four and a half years. Excellent towcar, especially the suspension and economic. Just a few doubts about the reliability of the electrics, flashing seat belt warning light, engine management light. None of these things cause a real problem just a nuisense.
