Just been away for the bank holidat on a CCC CL near Shirebrook. Nice little site but it has one problem, DOGS. We have a whippet and she is kept on a lead when on site, as per the rules !!. but, The site owner has 4 dogs that wonder all over the place, one is a large Rotwiler which drops large piles of ~~~~ everwhere, there were 3 piles near our van . We like this site but this puts us off going, and i'm not going to pick it up !!. What should we do ?? any surgestions, we dont want to complain in case the ban us.

Hello Graham,
Definately Complain to the CC. If the site owners actis are actually spoiling the facility, then the CC need to know about it.
And what do you have to loose by complaining to the site owner? After all if they still leavie their dogs out to annoy the site users would you go back there? no so even if tey ban you, its their loss not yours.
And perhaps they are unaware that their dogs are causing such a nuisance, so perhaps they may be glad of the news and actually do someting about it.

We have had this issue on numerous occaions where our dogs are always on a lead and we pick up after them, but the owner's dog wander around freely and crap where they pleased. CC do not even bother respond if you write to them about it, but there is a thread on the CC website under discussions about it.

I know the site you are referring to Graham.
We stayed at that CS last year for a week when needing a site to visit my mother. When we arrived there wasn't anyone about apart from the Rottie barking behind the gate. Another van on site told us to ring the number because the lady was feeding the horses but watch out for the dog mess which was near where I was standing. They quickly explained it wasn't their dog but the farms Jack Russell.
There was already five vans on site, two of them belonging to workmen, and I was on the verge of looking for another site when the lady arrived. She moved some rope fencing to accommodate us along the hedge. The Jack Russell was friendly enough but Rotties scare my missus to death and both wandered around the site dumping including another dog belonging to one of the site owners father. The site wasn't cheap either for what it offered although both the owners were nice enough people. We did buy some of their eggs but they were no bigger than a pullets.
This year we stayed at http://www.talltreestouringpark.co.uk/ which is a C.C. CL.
Again nobody on site when we arrived but some people had been asked to tell us where to pitch. I thought this was strange because there were a lot more than 5 outfits, more like 20. It was only after having set up and erected the awning I went to look around. I then noticed a track alongside the shower block with a sign at the end saying CC CL and during the week there was never more than two pitches in use. I never bothered to raise the matter because to be honest I couldn't be bothered to move again.
In the past we've stopped here ... http://www.sherwoodforestholidaypark.co.uk/ but it would have cost us £26 per night

although it's only two miles from my mothers.

Not a pleasant experience Graham and we experienced a similar problem at a CL in Cumbria. Suffice to say that we have never returned so I am surprised that you are fearful of being banned from the site if it causing you that much grief.
