Richard, the Caravan Club do not say the price as it is beyond their control.

It is down to the site owner to set pricing, the CC just give their approval for such a site.

The CC don`t say how much CL prices are because they aren`t "their" CL`s.

Each site has its own rates depending upon a number of factors including area, facilities, demand etc etc.

The only way to find out cost is to contact each site individually.

But isn't that the same with the C&CCs CS's? They put "their" sites in price bands so you have some idea of cost.

I don't understand this thread.

The prices of the Caravan Club CL's are listed on the Caravan Club website when looking up the CL's. So in other words, the Caravan Club DO show the prices per night of CL's.

They are not always accurate or fully up-to-date though (but then, neither are the C&CC CS's prices!) so a quick telephone call or email for confirmation is always a good idea.

The prices vary between around

Hi Legs

Fully agree. We use CLs a lot and quite honestly most of them have been excellent. Last week in July we had a week away for

The prices may be listed on the website, but not in the book.

I have no problem with this as I choose a site for its place rather than price.

BTW I am a member of both clubs

Oh, I know, Chris. I did say earlier that you can't be sure the prices on the web site are up-to-date and I should have added that the prices in the book are likely to be even more out-of-date than the prices on their website. And as you say, some sites may no longer exist or have been upgraded to a Camp Site. Such changes are listed every month in the CC Magazine but I can never be bothered to update the book with them. I always use the website anyway and usually ring to check they are still open, have a pitch available and check the prices.

Cutting the chase here and for Richard's sake, who cares anyway?

The CC CLs are mostly excellent value and on average are

Alan's hit the nail on the head with this one.

Over the years we have stayed on many CL's and we are yet to find one that has not offered great value for money.

Fully agree, Alan, except...

There are other sites cheaper or as cheap as CL's and cheap appeals to us because it means we can go away as often as possible. For example, we're booked to go to Rockley Park for 7 nights 1st September on a Full Service pitch and that's cost us

Richard

If you look in the Caravan Club sites book it states that CL rates given are only a guide and you should always confirm the rate per night at the time of booking. We charge

Hi, thanks for all your comments. At the moment I want to join 1 club only and am trying to decide on the best(not easy!). As has been pointed out, the CL rates are only visible to members so a comparison is not straightforward.

This club business seems to be an emotive subject!!

I don't know which Caravan Club you're a member of then, Damian because the prices per night of CL's are listed in my Caravan Club book.
OOPS,so they are, just read some of the listings,,,,,,,,,,,except they are not current pricing, so not really much use apart from a very rough guide.

Hi there. - I have just come back from a C.L site which charged 15 pounds per night, although the book said 12, so be careful and ask when you book. I think this is really quite expensive for a cl site

Oh sounds lovely, just my type of cl site. Like yourself I wouldn't mind paying that price for somewhere like that. I do realise prices of electric have gone up if you have a hook up but some cl sites do not justify prices they are charging.

We used to have a CL (until FMD in 2001 when we closed and then decided not to re-open).

I don't know if it is the same now (that was "pre-web"), but we had to give our details for our entry in the Book to the CC in August. The Book was published in December and valid for two years. So if we said (eg)
