Has anyone stayed on the CL in Whitfield Dover, Newsole Cottage (Mr Wadey), in the Caravan Club Directory. It is off the A2 Canterbury-Dover dual carriageway. What is the access like with a caravan? We are trying to break up the driving when we go to France in the Summer (Dover-Calais). Thanks for your advice.

Hi Carolyn,

We have tried every Cl in the Dover area, they are all fine UNLESS you have a twin axle, or possibly a large single axle. We now use Black Horse Club site as being the most convenient with easy access for our twin axle van.

We normally stay at Longfield Farm which just under a mile before Newsole. It is a busy site for ferry trafic and may be booked up early on. Singledge Lane is narrow with passing places but not busy. Newsole is on a lawned field access OK but is away from the Cottage OK for night stops but wouldn't consider for long stays. Every time we have passed it has been empty.

It's in the caravan club book, but I'm not sure if they will worry about being a member or not, as it's so cheap.
