We've just got back from a cl called 'Irton House Farm' at the top of Bassenthwaite Lake and it's a gem!! The site is a childfriendly, and dog friendly working farm, and the farmer and his wife are extrememly welcoming and helpful. It has two toilets and showers, an indoor games room with snooker and tennis tables. The site is flat but elevated which gives a fantastic view of the lake and fells towards Keswick. I know this is an old post but I wanted to contribute about our experiences up at the lake district. We stayed on a large caravan site next to the Ullswater lake. I found the site on the internet and it had lots of reviews which were mostly good. We arrived and we were very suprised to say the least, It was so noisy and not very clean, the dogs barking, kids screaming and crying, adults swearing loudly and neighbours in tents snoring very loudly. We didnt have a good time there at all,so in the end we left the site and found a smaller site which was much better. It just goes to show that a big site isnt what it all ccracked up to be.

Neither was your feeble attempt to insert unauthorised advertising (which is illegal by the way ) into an old thread in the hope that it wouldn't be noticed.
I've deleted your link and you're barred!
