CL type sites near Pennarth/Cardiff

I am planning to visit an old school mate who lives in Penarth just west of Cardiff.

I can only see 2 CL type sites nearby and no commercial touring sites.

I am looking at Vishwell Farm CL which as the name suggests is a farm based site.

Has anyone been there and if so what was it like? Secure? etc:

Has anyone discovered any other similar sites near Penarth?

I am not sure about that site, but another site you can try and we have stayed there is Cardiff Caravan Park. Pontcanna Fields, Sophia Close, Cardiff CF11 9LB, 02920 398 362.

We have stayed here walking distance to Cardiff and not that far from Penarth.

I agree with Allyson, Cardiff caravan park is nice.

I am pretty sure we visited that CL many years ago but not 100% sure. If im thinking of the right one it wasn't very nice. It was quite lonely and dark and down a long farm track.

Tottenham boy, there is a fairly new Caravan Club CL on the western outskirts of Cardiff called Coedarhydylyn, pronounced "coedriglan" locally.Very attractive views, but I don't think there are any facilities on site. I've not stayed there, but pass it frequently, and it always seems to have vans on,even at this time of year, as its very handy for the areas you're looking for.
