Cleaning Remi Window Blinds

After many years we decided the blinds were looking rather grubby. In fact on close inspection Yuk!

The photos show before and after. Top section clean lower section Yuk.

Homemade cleaning solution of 1 part bleach
1 part washing up liquid
8 parts warm water

Medium bristle tooth brush

Wet regularly rinsed fine sponge

Plenty of elbow grease.IMG_1553.jpegIMG_1551.jpeg

Looks great. Well done.
I would worry about crushing the pleats whilst cleaning; but clearly you have successfully retained them. Did you have to be really gentle or are they more robust than they appear?

Mel ,
It takes quite a while. You do have to be gentle with the brush and fluid. Some of the pleats near the edge did fold in. But once “rinsed” were easy to push back from the underside. Just scrub gently like the archaeologists do.
Each blind is about an hour work.
