Cleaning the water system

I am very new to camping, I have drained my water system down for the winter but should I clean the water system and pipes before I use it again if how do I do this. I would appeciate any advice.

Hi Peter,

It is always a good idea to sterilise the water system after a winter lay up.

Before your first outing in the season, mix a water container full of water and one of the main sterlilising agents such as Milton or Puriclean and fill the van pipework with it, the same way as normally filling the van.

Leave for the recommended time to be effective, then drain the system down and flush through with a couple of full aquarolls of fresh water.

If you have a water filter fitted, that will need changing also.
