I normally use miltons (or the cheaper home brand stuff).

I fill up the water containers add miltons then flush it through both systems (Filling the hot water right up) - Then empty the hot water down again - rinse the water containers really well - and flush the whole lot through again with clean water.

That way i do the containers and the water system at the same time.

Good evening Ruth

I agree with the comments already made about the water pipes.

However, you may also wish to deal with the aqua waste container as it can send an awful 'pong' back up the pipe to the kitchen sink. We (or should I say TOH) swills the container out with Domestos to void this problems.

Regards

Hi Ruth

we use Milton too. Make sure you check your water filter tho, it may need replacing. we flushed our system last year before we used (our virgin caravan trip) & did not know that there was a filter. The water tasted very strange & made a few enquiries on site & a fellow caravan club member kindly showed us where the filter is (our's is a truma & circular clear platic contr which you have to extract & replace, in the same door where your water pump goes).

Hi, regarding cleaning your pipes out, my caravan dealer supplied me with some stuff, a liquid pipe cleaner you just flush through, it was simple and effective. Its called 'Pipe flush' obvious name !! I think its also worth removing and cleaning your tap spout ends, they can get pretty gunged up and will be a major cause of 'black bits appearing in your sink

Hi

Re cleaning pipes on stored vans, milton fine but you are to remove filter or renew after cleaning (best to keep your old filter to put back on before cleaning then replace with your new one) wine vinegar is recomended for water heater to descale it.
