Hi,

I am looking for a back up overnight site near Clermont Ferrand for 20th December night. We have Camping Municipal le Chanset in Clermont but always like a second option just in case. Any sugestions would be gratefully received

Orcet - Le Clos Auroy -

Open 01/01-31/12 - A75, junction 5

POI 45.70021 / 3.16893

Orcet - Martres de Veyre - Mun. La Font de Bleix

Open 01/01-31/12 - A75, junction 5

POI 45.67887 / 3.20454

Both these are taken from the website http://users.telenet.be/leo.huybrechts/00frame.htm - which is very helpful for finding overnight stays just off the main routes through France. Best to check, though, that the sites are actually open - French sites are notorious for closing when they say they are open!

i would give camping le clos auroy a call or email them ,we just pulled in there in mid January and he soon gave us a pitch , the E H U he said was 10 amps , which kept tripping ,they also have barrier on the entrance ,and we wanted to leave at 7,30 in the morning everything was pitch black ,i tried waking them up to open the barrier but no one stirred ,in the end i found a button which opened it, so that wasnt very secure was it
