Since it seems Coachman Amaras are not exactly plentiful, I want to see what problems, if any, people have had with them. In particular the 530/4 as I'm just about to buy one. As far as I can see, they seem to be a very good van with a decent spec and build quality. All views appreciated.

We have just part exchanged an Amara for a Fleetwood, the Amara was great no problems just wanted the fixed single beds at the back of the van, Coachman have a good reputation for Build and Quality so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Let me know how you get on with it, and what ou think to the overall quality, we could not fault ours, as I said before it was a change of layout we went for.

Well just looking at it in the showroom, it seemed much better in terms of build quality against a new Elddis Avante, even though it is 2 years old. Better spec too and storage which swung it for us. It looked like brand new. Not picking it up til the 17th but I'll let you know how we get on. Its gonna be a big change from our 1990 Elddis Wisp!

You will love it, and I know the waiting is awful, but when you get it, you will be so over the moon, you will be in and out all day long, I know we were, we even had our evening meal in the Van,(as it was on the drive) it also gave us a chance to try the fire, the water, the lights and anything else that had switches and catches, enjoy.

We have a Amara 530/4 purchased new which will be 4 yrs old in July and still draws admiring looks and comments........... sorry for the pause as I am trying to think of the problems we have had......Aaah I remember the awning light used to eat bulbs. This is apparently due to a heat build up on the unit if it is fitted incorrectly.A new unit was fitted under warranty at service and I now have an over supply of awning light bulbs.

we do find the water drains a little slowly from the sink and wash basin Which I believe is due to the diameter of the pipewowk and also these two sinks use the same exit.I believe newer models have bigger pipework.

Its a great caravan (thankyou mr coachman)which has got even better over the years, not sure I would have purchased one when they were owned by Explorer group though. Enjoy. Peter.
