We had a Coachman in 2003 to 2006 and it was excellent. Was looking around the local Caravan Centre this weekend and they have some lovely Coachmans in. They might be a little more expensive than other makes and heavier but excellent build and quality. We changed ours for an larger Elddis Crusader which we love and can recommend too. Never had any trouble with either vans.

Thanks for that DianneT. We've been looking at the new Coachman Amara 560 fixed bed end bathroom. It is a little heavier than the one we have now so we're having a big think about it.

We have a Coachman Amara 560/4 bought in May 2010 which replaced our Amara 450/2 as we wanted a fixed bed. Good spec and storage is good with excellent build quality. Although Coachmans are generally heavier than most have no problems towing with Kia Sorento. Both vans have been excellent and recommend (my brother has a Pastiche 470/2 which is also a great van)

We are now on our 5th Coachman and have the twin axle Laser. We did depart to Abbey after our 4th in the hope that we could downsize to a single axle. After experiencing the space but more importantly the change in build quality, we purchased our 5th Coachman after having the Abbey for 12 months.

Hi
I really appreciate all your comments on the Coachman caravans. It seems the most common problem is the weight of the caravan. We really like the Coachman Amara 560/4 the only thing that I'm not 100% sure about is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of worktop space by the sink. Do the other Coachman owners find it adequate enough?

Another thing we need to look at is that we don't have an ordinary towcar. Because of our hobby we have to use a Vauxhall Vivaro 2700 van for towing. I'm worried that the Coachman might be too heavy although the caravan we have now, weighs 1560 and I think the Amara 560/4 weighs 1600.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
We go to Steam Traction Engine Rallys either as helpers or exhibitors. Hubby is having a 4" scale Burrell sc engine built so will have a bit of weight to it once it's finished.
Does anyone know where I can get info from about matching our Vivaro to the Amara560/4.
Grateful Thanks.
