Comment function

Would it be possible to delete the 'comment' function. I find it very annoying as it is much easier to simply have all posts showing in the thread. It is very disruptive having to expand these comments etc to see them. Never come across another forum organised in this way. I also note you often get the 'comment' reposted as a normal reply when the poster has realized that their post does not show normally.
 
I agree that the comment function serves no useful purpose and causes identical posts to be duplicated onto the main topic page.

After the second comment has been added any subsequent comments cannot be readily seen and the forum mods have to search through every post to try and find these comments so that they can be screened for the admittedly rare instances of inappropriate content.

The problem is - how to get anybody at Haymarket to change things?
