Compass Conoisseur 440/2 battery charging

Can anyone tell me if the above 1997 caravan is fitted with a battery charger as standard to charge the lesuire battery when the van is connected to the 240v mains. The reason I ask is that I can not identify a battery charger unit and there are no switches or gauges to tell me the state of the battery or if its charging or not.

Thanks for your help.

Most probably you do have a battery charger. Turn on all your caravan's interior lights with the mains lead disconnected, then after a while get someone to reconnect. If the lights brighten somewhat, the battery charger has kicked in.

Further to the previous post, if you have a multimeter, disconnect your mains lead from the van and take a reading across your battery terminals. You should have a reading of around 12.8 or so. Now connect your mains lead and if your charger is switched on, the reading across the terminals should jump to around 13.8
