i have a compass omega 524, weight is 1465kg,ive now need to find a car that will pull this heavy van,other than a 4x4 can anyone recommend a good car.

Mercedes E-class or BMW 5 series diesels, both are rear wheel drive with truly great diesel engines.

Failing that a Volvo V70 AWD.

You could also add to Rob's list the majority of large estates like the Passat, Mondeo, Vectra, Accord, & Mazda 6. All these cars in diesel form have a kerbweight exceeding 1600kg, they would make a fine towcar for the Compass.
