Does anyone have one of these vans? What do you think of them,Im not concerned about the weight at 1900 MTLP as I will be

pulling with a Kia sedona. Its the quality of build and fittings I believe it has alde radiators, what are they like is the system reliable? Your comments would be appreciated.

Hi Allen,

We have the Alde heating in our Bessacarr and it's a very reliable system. With the timer and temperature control it's not unlike domestic central heating where you can adjust it to your liking. We use our caravan throughout the winter and have never been cold.

Sorry but can't comment on the Compass. :O)

Allen, I've just had a look on the Explorer website, and the Compass Rallye 644 has the Truma blown air system. Thats completely different to the Alde; :O)

Hi Allen,

We have a Rallye 640 2005 and are very pleased with it, probably fewer niggle than previous vans and no major faults. It will not have Alde heating but a conventional fire with blown air, (just been round the factory and seen the 2008 ones being built). I wish they did have the Alde it is a far better system if you use the van in the winter particularly.

Hi Wendy and Alan,

God knows where I got the idea it was a radiator system,I think it has something to do with age LOL.Although I was looking at a Bessacar at the same time, there a quite a few deals going around at the moment, correct me if Im wrong but there does not seem to be a great deal of difference between 07 and 08 models in there specifications.I have been offered a good deal against my lunar delta 640ew which we cannot wait to get rid of it,but thats another story. Thanks again you two I will let you know how I get on.

Regards Allen

Hi Allen,

If you are looking at differences in 07/08 remember there will be no 08 Bessacarrs. In terms of Compass no major diiferences that I am aware of.

Hi Graham,

The problems people have with the Rallye is exactly what I want to hear,I too was fed up with english vans and in 2003 bought a T/A weltbummler by far the best I have ever had we used that touring europe and twice wintering in Spain, when we came back we decided to downsize to a S/A weltbummler, unfortunately it was destroyed by fire, that was last year and with the proceeds of the new for old policy we bought a two year old lunar delta 640,we should have known better as we had owned a lunar lexon 640 in 03.Thats the reason we went german.Anyway we would still like to hear about all the problems.

Hi,

Well I took the plunge and went for the Rallye 644,the better half wanted the island bed (Im sleeping in the awning)she also fell in love with the tinted windows,I liked the V-Tech chassis, being a man Im easily pleased LOL.I only hope I dont live to regret not going German, they had a lovely Knaus starclass but the wife rejected it because it did not have the must have island bed.thanks for your input.
