Hi All

Looks like this is a nice active forum site so should be very useful to a newbie like me.

I am yet to put a toe or tow

in to the caravan world but am doing lots of research at the moment as I see caravan holidays as a great fun and cost effective way to provide holidays for our family.
Looking at the good cost effective Aria Altea for its shear size v's weight and cost. I am also in the some what daunting task of looking for a new tow car to go with it.

That's me for now... Jason

Hi Jason and welcome. As an elderly 47-year experienced caravanner, may I presume to offer a few words of advice?
When you buy your caravan, I'd suggest studying the adverts for a used van, but do not buy from a dealer, and don't spend too much money.
Look for a van from someone who is giving up caravanning,as the van will probably come with all the extras that can cost mega-money to buy later. Things like an awning, Aquaroll, waste tank etc, which will almost certainly not be supplied in a dealer-bought van.
As for the money, well, if you buy a cheapie, and find that caravanning is not for you, you won't lose too much. If you buy new, you will probably lose thousands when you try to sell it! If you find that this great hobby is what you want, then sell on the cheapie to someone who, like you is just starting out, and buy better.
Look at all the options, make you choice, and then get out there and enjoy it.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum.

The Caravan Club magazine or online is a good place to start when looking for a caravan for sale and often includes all the essential bits and pieces that come with caravanning, including awnings and has often been very well looked after by a CC member.
Wherever you get your caravan from, for peace of mind, don't forget to do a CRiS check on the unique number that can be seen etched into the caravan window. This will make sure the caravan you're thinking of buying isn't stolen or have finance outstanding on it.

Hi Jason, welcome to the forum, do you mean the Adria Altea, my van is a Fleetwood which was built by Adria when they took them over, but sadly Fleetwood no longer exist, but the quality of build is excellent the sides are polyester as opposed to aliminium and they dont dent as easy

Hope you find what you are looking for.
